Where we started

Australian-born, globally built

We began in late 2013, when founder Hugh Stephens was one person in Melbourne, Australia. Back then Instagram was barely the platform it is today — there were still arguments over whether Snapchat would be the next big thing.

Hugh saw growing demand from social media managers for a platform that moved beyond “text and links” and — like Instagram — put visuals first, copy second.

The story of Schedugram

Schedugram — our first name

We started as Schedugram: the leading Instagram-specific scheduling and publishing tool. Early versions only handled image feed posts — Stories didn't even exist yet.

Our first customers were Australian Instagram marketers, but demand turned out to be global. We scaled the team locally and overseas to support customers in every timezone.

Like every startup, the early product was scrappy. We learned a lot about design along the way — and a lot about what social teams actually need to ship great work.

Beyond Instagram

The social world is bigger than one app

We always focused on great Instagram publishing, but customers kept asking for the same approach on other channels. Over time we added Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn (both company and profile), Google Business, Pinterest, YouTube — and more recently TikTok and Threads.

That expansion came with a name change — Schedugram became Sked Social when we launched Facebook scheduling, our first non-Instagram channel. Our social media inbox, analytics reporting, link-in-bio, media library, UGC curation system, and approvals workflows followed.

The future, with AI

Giving social teams superpowers

Sked has always been about continuous innovation — listening hard to customers and building what professionals actually need. Today that means AI baked across the workspace: Brand-Smart AI for ideation, caption generation, review responses, and competitor analysis; AI-commentary reports; and AI inside our own engineering and marketing.
